IN FULFILLMENT OF OUR SCHOOL’S RESPONSIBILITIES

The Staff Code of Conduct Policy serves to effectively guide the conduct of the School’s various activities in a manner that actively supports the overarching mission of the School and is thoughtfully designed to serve three key purposes:

  1. To establish the essential standards of workplace behaviour that the Betonica expects from all staff members.

  2. To share Betonica’s long-term commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical practice across all spheres of education, research, health care, public engagement, and service.

  3. To ensure that all staff members clearly understand and appreciate their shared responsibility for keeping the School in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

  • Betonica values all members of its community and recognises that each person contributes to the overall success of the school. Betonica further recognises that it is through the efforts of its staff that it delivers a world class medical herbalist education to its students. The culture of Betonica is one of respect, civility, trust, cooperation and collaboration among all its members. We believe all members of the Betonica community are entitled to an environment that ensures collegiality and mutual respect.

    • Members of the Betonica community shall perform their duties in a fair and ethical manner, consistently upholding the values and principles that guide our school, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

    • Members of the Betonica community shall carry out their duties with the utmost professionalism and commitment to excellence. Betonica actively supports the ongoing efforts of its dedicated staff to achieve and maintain high professional standards in all aspects of their work.

    • Betonica firmly believes in providing equal opportunity and access to all individuals regarding its employment, programs, benefits, and services. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that supports diversity and promotes fairness for everyone involved.

    • The Management Team has a particular responsibility to actively support the Code of Conduct and to consistently demonstrate compliance within their respective teams. This commitment not only fosters a positive working environment but also reinforces the importance of ethical practices throughout the school.

    • Betonica values an inclusive environment that actively promotes a spirit of civility and collegiality among all individuals, while also fostering open and constructive intellectual debate that encourages the exchange of diverse ideas and perspectives.

    • All members of the Betonica community have a shared responsibility to treat each other with utmost consideration and respect at all times. Furthermore, the Management Team, Personal Academic Tutors, Teachers and Clinical Supervisors hold an elevated responsibility to not only demonstrate these essential behaviours consistently but also to actively support and encourage their expression throughout the workplace environment.

    • Engaging in behaviours that harass, intimidate, bully, threaten, or cause harm to another member of the Betonica community is not only unacceptable but also does not contribute to fostering a respectful and civil work environment for everyone involved.

    • Betonica encourages and wholeheartedly respects the rich diversity within the Betonica community, firmly standing against any form of discrimination based on age, race, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic that is protected by law. This commitment to inclusivity applies to every single activity and operation that takes place within the school, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all individuals involved.

    • Betonica firmly affirms its steadfast dedication to foster and nurture a vibrant community that unequivocally condemns all forms of discrimination or acts of intolerance, including but not limited to sexual harassment, intimidation, and retaliation.     • Confidentiality of staff, patient and student records is respected and maintained in accordance with Betonica's policies and procedures, and government laws. We use such records for legitimate purposes only and in accordance with proper authorisation.

  • Betonica recognises education as one of its primary missions and strives to maintain a professional environment conducive to the development of its students. To that end, Betonica believes that the purposes of an educational institution are best served by attracting and developing teachers and students of competence and integrity and by assuring those teachers and students freedom to expand human knowledge and understanding.

    • We educate students from a wide range of backgrounds and respect differences in each individual’s heritage and goals.

    • We respect the individual choices that students make for career paths.

    • We respect each student as a valuable individual regardless of age, race, color, nationality, ethnicity, ancestry, marital status, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation or personal beliefs.

    • We acknowledge and support students’ rights to question staff in good faith.

    • We comply with all applicable statutes and regulations.
