RESPONSIBILITIES
OF THE MARKER
The marker plays a crucial role in the educational process, as they are responsible for grading and marking a variety of assignments, quizzes, research projects, and other types of work that are submitted by students in partial fulfillment of specific course requirements. Their evaluations are essential for providing students with feedback on their performance and understanding of the material covered in the course.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of the content and structure of the course for which marking is done.
Marking assessed and formative coursework on Turnitin.
Provide clear and constructive feedback on each student's assignment.
Adhere to evaluation guidelines and policies as determined by the Lead of Marking and Course Leaders.
Inform the Lead of Marking of any content or structural problems in assignments, quizzes and research projects, or in the marking guidance provided here.
Make sure you read the Markers Guidance for Teachers and Markers handbook (at bottom of page) before marking.
You are expected to carry out the work which is in line with your job description, pay grade and the time allocated.
For development, you may be given limited tasks which are not applicable to your grade; the Lead of Marking will provide supervision and feedback.
You must attend training sessions as requested.
The Lead of Marking is responsible for supporting and overseeing any assessment and duties, including briefing you on any changes to the marking process.
The Lead of Marking will ensure that appropriate moderation processes are in place for marking of all assignments and that you are informed about them.
